How To Roll A Scorpion Joint
You will need:
1x Rolling Paper
4x Slim Rolling Papers
The scorpion joint is relatively easy to roll when compared to the other herb engineer tutorials on this site. Follow my wise words carefully and you will end up with an impressive scorpion spliff.
Firstly, we need a good sized roach for the body. You can use four small roaches or one mega exhaust version. I took a tab out of my roach book for this.
As this roach will be wide we need to create a nice W in the middle to catch any herb that sucks through. Make a small fold like shown.
Now make another fold the opposite way.
Another fold the other way.
One more fold.
Now curve the roach paper around and start to roll the W so that it is contained within a cylinder.
And here we go, my W is slightly wonky... Maybe the W can stand for wonky I guess.
We want to make the body as fat as possible, I am using a Bob Marley papers as they are nice and wide. If you only have slims then stick two together.
Get a nice compact roll.
Twist the excess paper.
Now bend the joint just before the roach.
We are going to make the arms now, or pincers if you like. There will be no roach.
Get it nice and compact, tap it if you need too. We want open spaces on both ends.
Push an object down both ends to give a good empty cm of rolling paper on each end.
Now twist both ends of the paper.
Find the exact center of the joint and make a good hole so that the smoke can enter the main body joint of the scorpion.
Take the scorpions body to the operating table.
Now we will make two holes parallel to each other on the scorpions body. Keep it close to the end like I have.
I am using tweezers to make the hole. Scissor blades can be used if they are not too thick. Push the object all the way through to the other side of the scorpion joints body.
Work on both sides of the hole and get them wide enough to put the arms through.
Do not make the holes to big or the scorpion will not be air tight. If it is not air tight it will not smoke!
Push the arm through the hole, work slowly. It should feel nice and tight going through.
Level the hole we made in the middle of the arm with the scorpion body, also make sure this hole is aiming down towards the roach end.
We will now bend the arms into shape, support the arms with your thumb and finger and then make the bend.
Here is one side that has been bent, do both sides.
This is how your scorpion joint should be looking so far.
Now we will make the legs, take three slim rolling papers.
Hold all the papers together, cut off the same amount from each one. This is so the legs are shorter than the arms.
This step is optional, we wont be putting much herb in these legs as they need to be noticeably skinnier than the arms. I like to keep the paper inhaled to a minimum so if you feel the same cut off some width from all three papers.
Put a small amount of equal herb inside the three rolling papers. No roaches will be used.
Roll them up.
If they are slightly loose then give them a tap down on one side.
Push down the herb by 1 cm on each side.
Twist both the ends.
Do this for the other two leg joints.
Now we will make holes in the center for all three legs.
Aim up your tweezers and punch in three guide holes down the body of the scorpion joint.
Keep them inline with each other. If the guide holes are slightly out of line it will be ok, just correct them when making them bigger.
Skewer that scorpion!
Widen all three holes.
This is where we are at.
Push in the first leg, it should be tight.
Position the hole you made in the center of the leg so it is aiming down towards the roach of the scorpions body.
Do the same for the other two legs.
Support the legs by holding them between your thumb and finger, bend them all downwards.
Wallah! Our scorpion joint is finished and ready to impress.
